Today, the Embassy of the United States in Nouakchott, Mauritania signed a $350,000 grant to the World Health Organization (WHO) for it to assist the Ministry of Health in developing national policies and plans for effective infection prevention and control/WASH Programs in Mauritania. This grant is proof of the solid partnership that exists between the US Embassy here and the World Health Organization.
Activities to be undertaken through this partnership between the United States Government, the World Health Organization, and the Ministry of Health are key to paving the road towards fuller participation in the Global Health Security Agenda and greater adherence to the directives of International Health Regulations.
