U.S. government is supporting IOM for the procurement of hygiene and office supplies to facilitate the reopening of Centers for Protection and Social Reintegration of Children operated by the MASEF. This reopening occurs during COVID-19 pandemic as an inclusion measure and as a response to demands for support for children in need of protection. The support will allow the Centers of Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, Kiffa, and Rosso to resume protection and other support activities.

U.S. government support amounts to $150,000 and comes under the Africa Regional Migration Program (ARMP). In Mauritania, ARMP contributes to the strengthening of child protection procedures and legal wardens applied to the management of child protection cases, and more precisely to cases involving unaccompanied migrant children.
