His Excellency Mr. Michael Dodman, Ambassador of The United States of America to Mauritania presided over this morning at the Nouakchott English Center (NEC), the launching ceremony of the eleventh English Access Micro scholarship Program.
This major program initiated by our embassy will enable this year 90 students, 13 to 18 years old, from different secondary schools in Nouakchott and Rosso to take English courses at the Nouakchott English Center (NEC) and Sahara English for two school years, in parallel with their regular studies.
The US Embassy Nouakchott will cover all the expenses, including tuition, transportation, school supplies, and educative activities for two years.
Since 2007, 1,060 students have benefitted from the English Access Program, and the Embassy works collaboratively with the Ministry of Education to recruit participants in this program.

It is also important to note that the best students of each Access Program will spend 3 weeks in the USA under the Pan Africa Youth Leadership Program.
