In accordance with U.S. Department of State policy and regulations, starting January 1, 2015, all Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) applicants at the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott will be required to pay the machine-readable visa (MRV) fee on the day of their interview at the Embassy. The MRV fee can be paid in cash, in either U.S. dollars or Ouguiya equivalent. Credit cards cannot be accepted. The Embassy strongly encourages applicants to bring the exact amount of the MRV fee.  For a list of NIV fees please reference the U.S. Embassy Nouakchott website .

Please note that valid MRV fee receipts from BMCI bank will still be accepted for up to one year after the issuance date.

In order to process your application in the most efficient manner, all applicants are reminded that they must upload their photographs to the DS-160 online application before their interview appointment. All photographs must also conform to U.S. Department of State standards. For additional questions about the DS-160 online application or photograph requirements, please visit the U.S. Embassy Nouakchott website. Applicants with non-conforming applications will not be interviewed and will be required to schedule a new appointment via the online appointment system.
