Since the Embassy began exchange programs in 2005, 142 Mauritanian students have benefited from traveling to the United States and receiving the benefits of the higher education programs.  These students then return to Mauritania and participate in the socio-economic development of the country.

This year alone the Embassy will invest more than $700,000 toward the higher education and development of these Fellows.  This is just another demonstration of the great partnership between our two countries and two peoples in the areas of our combined interest, namely education and development.

If you would like to know more about these and other Embassy programs, please join us for our advising sessions on Mondays at 15:00, or contact PAS at pasnouakchott@state.gov for more information.
